The Alhambra
Published in Hardcover by Sleepy Hollow Restorations (November, 1982)
Average review score:

The AlhambraI don't always like to read classics, but when a friend of mine suggested that I read this book, I decided to try it, and I am very glad that I did. Irving's words, though written so many years before now, still paint eloquent pictures of the Spain of his time. I could almost see what he was seeing. The stories and legends are also wonderful and fascinating. An antique copy of this book is one of my most treasured gifts.

Alien Encyclopedia: The Ultimate Alien A-Z
Published in Paperback by Harper Collins - UK (March, 1999)
Average review score:

I thought the book was absoulutly thriling.I think the book 'Alien Enciclopedia" is the best book I've ever read.It has everythink about real aliens,t.v. aliens, alien investigations such as Telly tubbies,Mulder and Scully,The Blob,Mr Spot I like the book because it has a great way of making pictures in you're head of aliens.Every second of the book fills you with more and more imformation.Andrew Donkin is my second best author because he has such a creative mind.'Alien Enciclopedia' is the best book I've ever read.Soon as I picked the book up I could not put it down. The reason I liked the book is because it was about aliens and was one of those books where there was no boaring bits.It just increased better and better. The book doe's not scare me and I don't intend to be scared but the illustrations are very spine chilling.I think the illustrations are increasingly amazing!I would recomend this book to people who are into astronomy and like to be suprised!Andrew Donkin has met my class and me and I think he is a top ten author!Plus,I think the illustrations are top ten to!I have read 'Bugman' which is another book Andrew Donkin wrote and I'd give that book seven out of ten.Alien Enciclopedia is the best book in the U.K... Thats what I think any way!!!!!!! Like I say again Andrew Donkins book'Alien Enciclopedia is the best book I've ever read and I wish him well in the future! The next book Andrew Donkin writes I will certainly buy it.

Better Than A Scary Movie (If You're The Right Age)I read this age-appropriate semi-scientific narrative when I was nine, and the chapters about the Shovel-Jawed Mastadon and the Beast of Baluchistan frightened the heck out of me. Buy this for your kid today.

All Gold Canyon and Other Stories
Published in Digital by Amazon Press ()
Average review score:

All Gold CanyonAll Gold Canyon is a story of a man's journey in pursuit of gold. We travel with him through his everyday explorations and realize the depth of his greed and the effects this has on the earth.
This story provides an important message to people worldwide regarding human greed and the effects on natures well being. As the human race expands, we pay less attention to our destruction of mother nature. It also can lead the reader to an insight into their own life and the ways that we destroy things without even realizing it, only to fulfull our self pleasures.
In other ways, the story is interesting because the reader follows this man's pursuit towards happiness. Both the journey and the reward get the reader involved with their own fantasy of pursuing the dream of mining for gold, unfortunately, disregarding the effects our fantasy may have on our much needed surroundings.

All-Time Great World Series (All Aboard Reading)
Published in Turtleback by Demco Media (May, 1994)
Average review score:

Four great baseball games from World Series historyWhen you find out that "All-Time Great World Series" talks about four famous games from the Fall Classic you might think that you will be reading about Babe Ruth's called shot, the famous home runs that won games hit by Bill Mazeroski and Carlton Fisk, or the perfect game pitched by Don Larsen. But Andrew Gutelle tells what happened in four other famous World Series games: when Walter Johnson and the Washington Senators won their only World Championship in 1924, Reggie Jackson's three homers in 1957 when the New York Yankees beat the Los Angeles Dodgers, the New York Mets coming back in the bottom of the tenth against the Boston Red Red Sox in 1986, and the 1-0 10-inning Game 7 in 1991 between the Minnesota Twins and the Atlanta Braves, who had both gone from worst to first. Gutelle argues this last one might have been the greatest World Series game ever and it is certainly hard to top the tension of a deciding game that is scoreless at the end of nine innings. This book does a nice job of combining historic photographs with nice illustrations by Bart Forbes. Gutelle covers all of the bases on the key details of each of these games, so parents and grandparents who remember these games vividly will not feel the urge to talk about things that have been left out. Certainly the first choice in this book is an interesting one, since the Senators do not even exist anymore and the other three games are all of more recent vintage. But one of the things you learn to love when you discover baseball is the history of the game and if this book introduces young fans to the Big Train, so much the better. This first-rate book serves as a wonderful introduction to just some of the dramatic games that have been played in the World Series. Now readers in Grades 2-3 will know the story of why they keep replaying the ball going through Bill Buckner's legs all the time.

Alternative Medicine
Published in Paperback by Viking Press (December, 1986)
Average review score:

Fascinating and informativeA fascinating summary of Alternative Healing Therapies which serves to challenge our thinking and perceptions regarding our blind acceptance of orthodox medicine. The book is inspiring as it highlights the dedication and innovative thinking of many pioneers of unorthodox healing therapies. This book inspired me to search for more information on some of the therapies. However, it seems there is very little information readily available on the more fascinating and lesser known therapies covered in this book. It would have been helpful if Dr. Stanway had given information on sourcing some of the products mentioned as well as other sources of reference for further study.
